Dear Friends,
The votes have been counted and after a long night, it is official, I will be the Democratic nominee for California’s 21st Assembly District.
This was a close race, and I want start by thanking my former opponents for a hard-fought and vigorous campaign. We have all benefited from Yoriko Kishimoto and Josh Becker’s passion and dedication to improving the lives of peninsula residents. They deserve our gratitude for expanding the conversation to topics like sustainable communities and green tech development, which are bigger than this district and essential to the long-term future of the California. Their voices will continue to be important going forward, and I look ahead to working with them.
Most of all I want to thank YOU. I would not be here today without the enthusiasm of my many volunteers and supporters. Thank you for staffing our phone banks, for posting lawn signs, for knocking on doors and passing out literature. Thank you for opening your homes and introducing me to your friends and neighbors. And thank you for believing in my vision of restoring California’s promise.
Now as we prepare for the general election in November, when I will face a strong Republican challenger, I ask you to stay engaged in the campaign. Sacramento needs to know that the time for gridlock and complacency is over. Together we will reshape California.
Rich Gordon
Democratic Nominee for the 21st Assembly District
